Mitch was an avid equestrian where he showed American Saddlebreds. His involvement went beyond the show ring. He was involved in promoting the saddlebred. Mitch served as President of the American Saddlebred Association of the Carolinas for many years. Under his watch he brought the horses to the people. He orchestrated bringing saddlebreds to the Eastland Mall Exhibitions, Festival In The Park, Charlotte Coliseum Queen City Classic Horse Show, Discovery Place, Carolina Lighting Soccer games and the Carousel Parade. Mitch was also instrumental helping Belk Stores market their Saddlebred line of clothing. No promotion was too extensive for Mitch to handle.
